About the event
Beginner Punch Needle Rug Hooking
Learn the basics of punch needle rug hooking while creating your own 4-inch mug rug! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to control stitch size, space your rows, punch straight lines and curves, and finish your rug with clean edges and simple hemming techniques.
All essential tools will be available to borrow during class, including a frame, frame cover, and Oxford punch needle. A small selection of tools will also be available for purchase if you decide to continue exploring this fun and versatile craft. Please bring small, sharp-pointed embroidery scissors if you have them.
Punch needle rug hooking uses a special needle to push yarn through foundation cloth, creating loops on the underside. Once you learn the basics, you can use this technique to make everything from small mug rugs and trivets to larger rugs!
No experience necessary! This class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a refresher.
