KIDS' SUMMER CAMPS

Textile Camp

JULY 1 - 3 REGISTRATION CLOSED

In this class, campers will create a fabric collage self portrait, a woven wall hanging, For a final project on Day 3, campers in grades 1-4 will stitch a silly monster plush doll. Older campers in the afternoon will learn the basics of quilting by creating a "Rug Mug".

Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre

JUNE 24 - 28 REGISTRATION CLOSED

In support of the Creston Arts Summer Art Camps, Crest Area Theatre is sponsoring a residency by the Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre. Puppetry is an imaginative melding of creative visual arts and theatre found in cultures all over the world going back millennia. This is the 50th anniversary year of the Eulenspiegel Puppet Theatre, a non-profit organization based in West Liberty, Iowa, dedicated to promoting the art of puppetry through high-quality performances, workshops, and creative events.  

Summer Art Camp

Held in the Creston Arts Center in June, this program is the perfect way to keep your child exploring their creativity during the summer. Classes start with kindergarten to fifth-grade students in the morning and sixth to eighth-grade students in the afternoon. Register your child now and see what amazing creations they'll make!

Music Camp

JUNE 6 & 7 REGISTRATION CLOSED

Come and enjoy two days of musical fun with Orff educator Kjersti Christensen. Participants will have a chance to play several percussion instruments such as the xylophone and glockenspiel as they put music to words while inventing creative rhythms to accompany several famous children’s stories. 

Indigo Dye Camp

JUNE 5 REGISTRATION CLOSED

Explore the gorgeous natural blue of indigo in this perfect-for-summer workshop. Students will learn different shibori dye resist techniques in this hands-on, creative textile workshop, including tegumo (tied), ori nui (stitched), and itajime (clamped) shibori methods.
