ARTIST IN RESIDENCE EXHIBIT FOR DECEMBER AT THE CRESTON ARTS DEPOT GALLERY

December 3rd, 2023. CRESTON, IA- Creston Arts’ first-ever artist in residence Kate Sutton will share her artwork at the Creston Arts Depot Gallery for the last monthly exhibit of the year.

“The work in the show will be an amalgamation of pieces I’ve made during my time as an artist in residence this past summer with Creston Arts, and ceramic works I’ve made this semester at KCAI,” said Sutton. “Since it’s going to be such an eclectic selection of work from the past year, it’s going to be an exhibition that shows a lot of change in my artistic style while I’m still trying to grow into it.”

The recent SWCC graduate was the first artist in Creston Arts’ artist in residency program. Sutton stayed at the Creston Arts’ apartment located at 107 N. Maple St. for the summer. During her residency, she taught four workshops targeting different age groups while working on her art exploration. Those interested in applying for Creston Arts’ Artist in Residence program can apply for free at www.crestonarts.com/artist-in-residency-application.

Closing Reception

A closing reception will be held 6 to 8 p.m. December 29 at the Creston Arts Depot Gallery. Light refreshments will be served.
