July 30th, 2024. CRESTON, IA — Live music and painting, Monthly Poetry workshop, Last Prairie Walk and Draw, and more!
Live in Concert with Chad Elliott
Award-winning songwriter and accomplished painter Chad Elliott is set to perform live in concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 at Green Valley State Park. This event, sponsored by Creston Arts and High Lakes Outdoor Alliance is part of Elliott’s “Paint the Park - Supporting Iowa’s Natural Treasures with Art & Music” series.
Before the live concert, Elliott will be creating a painting of the park. The public is encouraged to watch Elliott’s art process while he is painting. This is a great opportunity to have Green Valley State Park preserved via art and an excellent live music event for all ages.
The performance will be held at the Green Valley State Park Beach, 1370 130th St., Creston, IA, 50801, near the main boat ramp. The event is FREE and open to the public. Free parking is available on the concrete lot next to the performance area. This is a family-friendly event. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. This group is sponsored by the Iowa Prairie Network, a grassroots, volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation of Iowa's prairie heritage. IPN was formed in 1990 by Iowans concerned with Iowa’s disappearing prairie heritage.
