Creston Art’s Chalk with Us program returns for 2025 Independence Day festivities.
June 12th, 2025, CRESTON, IA— Creston Arts’ Chalk with Us returns for its 12th year in a row to celebrate the 4th of July alongside other local festivities in Uptown Creston.
Chalk with Us, previously known as Chalk the Town, is a Creston Arts program that partners with the Chamber of Commerce and area youth to decorate the town for thousands of visitors for Independence Day celebrations.
“Come meet other artists in your community and help beautify Creston for all of our 4th of July visitors!” invites Brian Zachary, Board President of Creston Arts. “Music, Food, and Art!”
Businesses and individuals are welcome to join Creston Arts and support this event by sponsoring a chalk mural. All of the murals will be along the Walk of Chalk, located on the north side of the 400 block of Adams St., near the Creston Arts Center. The sponsors of each mural will be identified and recognized on our social media. Those who wish to sponsor a chalk mural at the Walk of Chalk can do so by going to www.crestonarts.org/chalk-the-town.
To help create the chalk murals, volunteers can visit the Creston Arts Center located at 411 W Adams St, from 9 am to 4 pm on July 3rd. Creston Arts will provide tents, water, sunscreen, gloves, hats, pads, and other mural chalking needs. Music will be performed for entertainment. Free pizza lunch will be provided to the volunteers. Spaces will be designated for volunteers who wish to create their designs. Free chalk packs will be provided by Creston Arts and the Creston Chamber of Commerce.
Creston Arts will hold another community chalk event on Balloon Days this September. More information to come. For other upcoming events, visit www.crestonarts.org.
