The Iowa Arts Council awards Creston Arts with $5,000 for operating support.
SEPTEMBER 3RD, 2024 — Creston, IA — Creston Arts is proud to announce that it has been awarded $5,000 through the Cultural Capacity Building Grant Program, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council.
This marks the third consecutive year Creston Arts has received this grant, furthering its mission to enrich the local community through the arts. The funds will be instrumental in offsetting operational costs at the Creston Arts Center, ensuring that art programs and workshops remain financially accessible to everyone in the community.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority recently announced nearly $1.7 million in funding through seven grant programs aimed at fostering cultural enrichment across more than 60 communities in Iowa. These programs include the Art Project Grant Program, Cultural Capacity Building Grant Program, Cultural Leadership Partners Program, Greenlight Grant Program, Iowa Artist Fellowship Program, Iowa Community Cultural Grant Program, and Iowa Screenwriters Grant Program. Support for these initiatives is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
