CRESTON ARTS PRESENTS: THE ART OF BRENDA SCOTT

August 19th, 2025. CRESTON, IA - Creston Arts welcomes the work of faith-based artist and author Brenda Scott.

This exhibit will consist of dreamlike paintings created using acrylics, watercolors, and oils. Many of these works contain imagery of flowers, animals, and other natural elements. Scott uses soft and delicate colors to create her ethereal and delicate paintings. 

Closing Reception

The public is invited to an artist’s reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 26th, at Creston Arts Depot Gallery, 116 W. Adams St. Light refreshments will be served. Learn more about the event at www.crestonarts.org. 

The exhibit will be open to the public in September. Gallery admission is free. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is closed on weekends. 

About the Artist

My name is Brenda Scott, and I am a multidisciplinary artist living near Essex, Iowa. In my country studio, I work primarily with acrylics, watercolors, and oils, creating ethereal, dreamlike pieces that reflect my love for soft, delicate colors. My artistic expression extends beyond painting—I also explore photography, sculpture, sewing, floral design, gardening, and writing. For me, art is not just a practice but a way of life. I strive to live artfully each day, weaving my many creative passions into a cohesive and meaningful whole. My work can also be found at the 518 Art Gallery in Red Oak, Iowa.
