February 24, 2024. CRESTON, IA — Creston Arts announces more workshops and events at the Creston Arts Center for the month of March, including various crafts and media taught by local artists.
Two Part Clay Workshop
Professional Ceramicist and SWCC Art Instructor Kelly Devitt will teach a two-part clay workshop Satudays March 2nd and 9th from 10 a.m. to noon at the Creston Arts Center. Participants will learn to create their own hand-built mug. This class is for ages 10 and up. Registration is required at www.crestonarts.com.
Paint along with Melissa!
The ‘Paint along with Melissa!’ series continues next month with two classes at the Creston Arts Center. These classes will take place 2 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday March 3, and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday March 23. Registration is required at www.crestonarts.com.
Other Workshops
Additional workshops at Creston Arts Center include a Decoupage for Beginners with Kalian Smith from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Satuday March 9; Maker’s Night Workshop for “Folded Fabric Flowers” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday March 14th; Beginner Crochet with Sandy Maxa 9 a.m. to noon Saturday March 16. Poetry Event
This month’s poetry workshop is themed ‘Duality of spring.’ Participants are asked to bring their notebooks and pens 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at the Creston Arts Center. This class is for adults 18 and older.
“The Words He Cannot Say” by Leo Bird
Creston Arts invites the public to the opening reception for a performance of Leo Bird’s graphic memoir, "The Words He Cannot Say.” This free event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 1, at Creston Arts Gallery.
