Yoga for Mental Health
The Yoga for Mental Health series is continuing into November. These sessions will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. on Fridays. Certified yoga and meditation instructor Keri Anderson will lead classes focused on mind, body, and breath. Yoga mats will be provided, but participants can bring their own. The classes are capped at 8 participants. Registration is required online at www.crestonarts.org.
Monthly Poetry Workshop
In this poetry workshop, we’ll explore the unique power of comfort food as a form of storytelling, memory, and identity reclamation. Through guided discussions, writing exercises, and sensory experiences, participants will uncover the deep connections between food, family, and culture, focusing on dishes that bring warmth, belonging, and nostalgia. The group will meet at the Creston Arts Center from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6th. This workshop is free and open to 15 years and older. RSVP is required online at www.crestonarts.org.
Makers’ Night
Sarah Scull will host the Makers’ Night Open Studio on Friday, November 15th from 5 to 8 p.m. Artists and crafters are invited to bring their current projects to work on at the Creston Arts Center amongst other creatives. For those simply seeking a creative and social space, drawing and watercolor supplies will be provided. This event is for all ages. RSVP for headcount is required at www.crestonarts.org.
Lace Stone Necklaces with Sandy Maxa
Crafter Sandy Maxa brings the Creston Arts Center another lace stone workshop with a twist - participants can bring their own collected pieces or use materials provided to craft unique lace stone necklaces that turn keepsakes into personal jewelry. This class has a $20 material fee with online registration required at www.crestonarts.org. Class is capped at 10 participants.
Paint with Melissa! Christmas Truck
Paint with Melissa! Christmas Truck will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30th at the Creston Arts Center. Participants will use acrylics to create a painting featuring a classic truck hauling a Christmas tree through a snow-covered landscape with Melissa’s guidance. All skill levels are welcome in this easy-to-follow class. Class is capped at 20 participants. Online registration is required at www.crestonarts.org.
The Art of Lawrence Earl Nash
Creston Arts welcomes the work of Lawrence Earl Nash through his collection curated by his own daughter, Jennifer Queener. The exhibit will run for most of November in the Creston Arts Depot Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 1st, at the Creston Arts Depot Gallery, 116 W. Adams St. Light refreshments will be served. Learn more at www.crestonarts.com.
